We have plunged into the reunion planning & are preparing for a great reunion. The responses so far have been impressive from our 1969 classmates but a lot of responses from other classes as well. So far we have people coming from the classes of 1967 to 1973. This is thrilling for us as many of our friends in high school were from different graduating classes or we married someone from other classes. It's been so much fun corresponding with many that I didn't know that well in high school, but now it seems like we're old friends. The bonds of Morenci-ites (not sure that's a word) run thick.
May of 2009 seems so far away but the weeks are flying by and it will be here before you know it. One of the reasons we planned this a year in advance is to prepare an amazing reunion, so you will put the reunion on your calendar as a "for sure" occasion, and it will give you time to pay for the reunion in payments & in advance so that once you arrive at the Carefree Resort, you are paid up and can sit back and enjoy the weekend. In addition to that, deposits are due to the hotel in November and April (I may begin to sweat a little at that time :)
Our 40th Reunion is a BIG occasion! In looking at how many of our friends have passed on, it seems even more important that we connect at our 40th. There may be many that can attend the 40th but may not be able to come to a 50th. Who knows what the future holds for any of us? We're trying to make this reunion the most memorable ever and to celebrate the fabulous "60's", our unique upbringing, our unusual town & the lifelong friendships we have. The resort venue is spectacular and is in such a relaxing location that you can't keep from "de-stressing". The program is in the works, the band hired, plenty of activities available to connect with friends and we're working on some surprises for the weekend.
I really hope that you are preparing to attend the reunion. This is everyone's reunion and I'm open to any suggestions or ideas that you have, and would welcome your input. Take a look at the "Classmates Missing" which has been updated. This includes those that I don't have any address for, and the invitations were returned to me because of the wrong address. Any help you can give in locating them would be appreciated.
